The Biotechnology Department at the Faculty of Science - Cairo University represents a qualitative addition aimed at preparing a new generation of scientific cadres capable of keeping pace with the times.
Recognizing the importance of this field in sustainable development, the department was established by Ministerial Decree No. 495 dated 7/2/2025 to be the first of its kind in Egyptian universities, focusing on applied biosciences.
To become a pioneer and distinguished at the regional and global levels in the fields of education and applied scientific research.
Providing high-quality education and scientific research to prepare qualified cadres. The department focuses on applied and innovative research that serves the community.
The teaching system in the department follows the college regulations (credit hours) and student evaluation in each semester.
Students acquire practical experience through practical training in the department's laboratories and research centers.
